Metric Rifle & Pistol

Description

This class is based around a heavy emphasis and using a rifle and pistol conjunctionally, similar to what we would see in a “duty” setting. While covering the principles of using both platforms, there is a lot of metric based shooting in this class. We will be pushing the mechanics of rifle to pistol transitions, reloads with both platforms, all while keeping you to a time standard. You will be challenged and often pushed to failure, but this is done to give you an idea of where you land metrically with your shooting.

Some topics that will be covered in this course:

• Refinement of the grip/mount to a rifle/pistol and exploration around it.
• Reloading quickly and consistently
• Exercises/drills with a focus on vision and target transitions
• Emphasis on rifle to pistol transitions: the how and why.
• Balancing speed and accuracy
• Various skills/drills around moving and shooting

Gear List:

• Eye and ear protection
• A reliable and modern rifle + pistol
• Sturdy and safe holster for pistol (please avoid SERPA’s and leather holsters. Holster can be IWB or OWB) – A Quality sling for rifle
• A sturdy duty belt or EDC belt with the capability of carrying mags for both rifle and pistol. Chest rigs or plate carriers are also acceptable.
• At least 3 magazines each for rifle AND pistol
• 300-500 rounds per platform
• Plenty of water
• Lunch/Snacks
• Rain gear/cold gear
