The Redline Mission
Redline Consulting is a veteran/law enforcement owned and operated company. RLC provides quality firearms training that has performance roots, but also experience based. RLC also provides professional media, both photo and video, that is 2A related and outside the industry as well.
“Redline” got its name from the founder, Jake Hocevar, due to his experience in his law enforcement career. This term is derived from police pursuits, meaning pursuits/chases that involve the RPM’s of a patrol car constantly hitting the red line of the RPM gauge on a vehicle. Jacob also carried this term over to his firearms training, where he believes in pushing the boundaries of performance behind rifle and pistol platforms.
Jake has nearly a decade of instructional experience traveling the country teaching law enforcement, military, and civilians how to do the fundamentals at speed. His shooting journey started in competitive shooting (3-Gun, 2-Gun, and USPSA) and from there boiled itself into joining the military, becoming a Police Officer, and teaching professionally. While still working in law enforcement, Jake has dedicated himself to helping people further themselves in their shooting journey via metric based and performance based firearms training. Jakes goal with Redline Consulting is to help people realize the importance behind being efficient and effective behind a firearm and get rid of the old school mentality around firearms training.
The company was founded with Jacobs partner and close friend, John Scheuermann. John played a key role in designing the company logo, establishing company values, and handles the media side of the house for RLC. John also has followed the same training path as Jake and believes in performance behind the fundamentals. The 3 company pillars that are shown in the logo are God, Country, and Family. RLC believes these are the 3 pillars to life and paths that every American should hold dear. God fearing Americans, who believe in the pursuit of happiness, backed by the Constitution, are who run this company and anyone affiliated with it.

Matt Brom joined the Redline Team in 2026. Matt has followed a very similar training path to Jake & John with deep competitive roots. His background consists of 3-Gun, 2-Gun, and USPSA with numerous first place finishes and top 5 placements. Matts dedication to competing at a high level helped him develop his marksmanship, firearms handling, and performance on demand that serve as the foundation of his instruction. Most importantly, he follows a similar moral and educational path that we at Redline value immensely. Matt is committed to providing professional, effective instruction in a conducive learning environment.
