Whether you are a first responder, military personnel, responsible armed citizen, or someone with no formal medical background, this course will equip you with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to manipulate a firearm and manage traumatic medical emergencies in high-risk lowlight environments.

This course is 2 parts: Lowlight medical training and lowlight firearms training. Students will learn how to manage traumatic injuries and utilize a firearm in lowlight/no light environments. Training will include 4 hours of lowlight medical training and 4 hours of lowlight firearms training. This will be a great learning experience or tune up for those that need a refresh on tactical medicine and firearms training in lowlight environments.

If you train with firearms, this is the medical training you should have before the emergency happens.

MEDICAL TOPICS:

• Rapid patient assessment in hostile environments
• Hemorrhage control: tourniquets, wound packing, and pressure dressings
• Airway management basics
• Recognition and management of chest injuries
• Providing medical care while maintaining security
• Casualty movement and extraction techniques
• Single-rescuer and team-based extrication
• Coordinating casualty evacuation
• Multiple live-fire medical scenarios under instructor supervision

FIREARM TOPICS:

  • Safety
  • Balancing speed, accuracy, and identification in lowlight environments
  • Emphasis on the 3 pillars: Grip, sights, and trigger.
  • One handed shooting techniques while utilizing a handheld light
  • Various skills/drills around WML shooting and handheld light shooting
  • Shooting while moving and moving to shoot
  • Utilizing medical techniques in a live fire environment

GEAR LIST:

  • Eye and ear protection
  • A reliable pistol 
  • A sturdy and safe holster for pistol (please avoid SERPA’s and leather holsters. Holster can be IWB or OWB).
  • A sturdy duty belt or EDC belt with the capability of carrying mags for pistol. Chest rigs or plate carriers are also acceptable. At least 3 pistol mags.
  • 400 rounds of pistol ammo
  • Weapon mounted light (*NVGS ARE NOT REQUIRED BUT WELCOMED*)
  • Handheld light and a way to retain it on your person like a pouch or lanyard.
  • Any kind of lowlight marker, green light, glowstick, etc.
  • We advise you to wear some older style clothes. We do use fake blood, and it says it will not stain.
  • Plenty of water.
  • Lunch/Snacks.
  • Rain gear/cold weather gear.
